Our clothing and our personality

Clothing says a lot about our likes and our personality. A person can choose clothing to identify with the people closest to them (friends, family, co-workers) or on the other hand can choose a look completely opposite of others with the idea of distinguishing themselves from others.

There are many people that always use the same style of clothing, because they prefer to worry about other, more important issues rather than wasting valuable minutes in front of the open dresser and decide which shirt combines with which pair of pants, or the color of the current season. A clear example of this type of person can be found in the movie The Fly, directed by the great David Cronenberg. In this movie we can observe the protagonist, the scientist Seth Brundle, opening his closet and showing dozens of shirts, pants and suit jackets, all being the same. Seth used the same type of clothing every day, as he considered the time spent wondering what to wear a waste.

On the other hand exist other people that consider their clothing a part of vital importance. There exist many programs about fashion, where we receive tips and tricks on how to dress according to the current trends. It seems to me that there are more people that worry about how to dress than there are people that don’t really care about it (such as Seth Brundle from the movie). A few years back it was rather difficult to find clothing that matched our taste. One of the things that I love so much about this planet we live on, is the ability to meet so many different people from all over the globe. There are currently 196 countries around the world, plus dozens of territories and colonies, just waiting to be explored.

There are a number of great ways to meet people from other countries. You could travel to foreign countries, explore their cities and out of the way places, and get to know the people and culture. Another option is go to a large sporting event such as the Olympics. This may be one of the easier options. You’ll be able to meet people from all over the world in one convenient place. The cheapest way would be to explore in your own city or travel to a larger one close to you. Most large cities in the United States have thousands of residents who hail from all over the world.

In cities like New York or Los Angeles, you have entire neighborhoods where large groups of immigrants call home. For example, NY is known for it’s Little Italy and China town plus countless others and Los Angeles has the largest residence of Koreans outside Korea in the neighborhood known as Koreatown. LA is also known for it’s Thai town and Japan town. Both of these cities have millions of residents and a large percentage of those residents are immigrants from many different countries.

I happen to love to travel and eat, so when I can afford it, I try to explore a new place.
