, right? I love aprons andI love to eat yummy delicious food, but it’s usually when someone else has prepared it. It’s not that I can’t cook or that I don’t enjoy cooking, it more has to do with nothaving the time to devote to creating a gourmet meal.

When I had more time on my hands, I loved to host or be invited to cooking parties. Everyone would bring a dish to cook, from appetizers to desserts and we’d all stand around the kitchen in our aprons, drinking wine or beer or whatever was in the cupboard.

Most of the girls and guys were wearing the most amazingly beautiful, cool and funky looking aprons. It almost verged on a contest to see who would be wearing the best apron in the kitchen that week. Aside from a little apron fashionista competition, we all had loads of fun cooking and drinking and eating all day long. We usually managed to keep our clothing clean too. Those were the days.

Now whenever I’m in a shop that has cooking aprons, I always get excited. The aprons generally have the best designs and colors and I also think it reminds me of a time that was filled with delicious food and great company.

Aprons also make wonderful gifts. They’re usually inexpensive, can be personalized and generally tend to make the chefs in our lives smile gleefully at the thought of wearing one.
