What is it about skydiving that entices people to jump out of a perfectly good airplane?
It’s the slow, tortuous plane ride into the sky where you question if you’re really about to do something so seemingly crazy. It’s the rush of air as the airplane door is opened. It’s the anticipation that comes with knowing that you’re about to be free-falling from thousands of feet in the air. It’s the seconds that seem like hours as you stand in the open airplane doorway preparing to jump… Yes, it’s pretty safe to say that there’s something about skydiving that keeps people coming back for more once they’ve conquered their first jump.
After all, jumping from a plane with a parachute strapped to your back elicits a rush of adrenaline that not many activities can fulfill. Feeling the cool air whip around your face, tickling your senses and electrifying every inch of your body, is a sensation that is rarely recreated and is almost like a drug, making you crave the feeling over and over again.
But there’s more to skydiving than just that. There’s also the calm that comes once your parachute opens. The feeling that you’re alone in the company of the clouds for a few precious minutes. The absolute silence and serenity that engulfs you as you float downwards to the ground.
Not to mention being able to proudly wear Skydiving T-Shirts afterwards, staking claim to your adventurous streak and immediately having a conversation starter with anyone who happens to be around you.
